In the footsteps of Vincenzo Pagani

An itinerary that accompanies the discovery of the works of Vincenzo Pagani, a Renaissance painter from the Marche region who left evidence of great artistic and spiritual value in Moresco.

Departure is from Castle Square, under the Gothic portico, where the Madonna and Child, a fresco reflecting the popular devotion and refined style of the master, is kept.

Continue to theformer Church of St. Sophia, now converted into a theater, which preserves traces of 15th-century frescoes related to the school of Pagani and testifies to the importance of this place in the cultural and religious life of the community.

The third stop is the Church of Santa Maria dell’Olmo, which houses a splendid votive shrine frescoed by Pagani with the crucified Christ and saints, one of the most intense masterpieces of his production.

The tour ends at the Town Hall, where the large wooden panel depicting the Madonna in Glory with Child and Saints (1529), a work that synthesizes the artist’s artistic strength and religious sensibility, is on display.

An itinerary that interweaves art, faith and historical memory, revealing Moresco as a small Renaissance treasure chest in the heart of Le Marche.
